Resources and Opportunities
With its variety of funding, learning, and research opportunities, the Francophone studies department at Bowdoin offers students the ability to further explore and experience the French-speaking world.
Grants and Fellowships
From a teaching assistantship in France to a summer of research on campus, the College and the Francophone studies department offer a multitude of grants, fellowships, and awards to help students further their study of Francophone language, culture, and history.
Off-Campus Study
Bowdoin students of Francophone studies have the opportunity to study away for a year or a semester in a variety of exciting programs in Francophone Europe (France) and Francophone Africa (Cameroon, Madagascar, Senegal). Students find that their experiences abroad teach them as much about themselves and their own culture as they do the foreign culture they live in while abroad.
